Certification Description:
ADULT Mental Health First Aid -
Participants take part in a 2-hour, self-paced class, followed by a 5.5-hour, instructor-led class using videoconferencing technology. Mental Health First Aid helps participants assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, participants learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
This course provides attendees with a completion certificate at the end of the course and is the mental health equivalent of First AID/CPR. All participants also receive access to an online handbook that they can use as a reference.
Participants learn how to apply the Mental Health First Aid action plan in a variety of situations, including when someone is experiencing:
• Panic attacks
• Suicidal thoughts or behaviors
• Non-suicidal self-injury
• Acute psychosis (e.g., hallucinations or delusions)
• Overdose or withdrawal from alcohol or drug use
• Reaction to a traumatic event

"Forgiving What You Can't Forget" Bible Study

We know God commands us to forgive. But how? Why? When? And are there exceptions? Though forgiveness is a major part of the Christian faith, most of us have never been taught much about it and have many unanswered questions.
Why should I have to be the one who forgives when I’m the one who has already suffered the most?
When you’ve experienced hurt upon hurt or your heart has been completely shattered, offering forgiveness can feel unrealistic. Lysa TerKeurst understands this on a deeply personal level.
But after over 1,000 hours of theological research about this, Lysa has discovered Scripture not only provides the truth about forgiveness that our souls desperately need, but offers practical ways to let go of our bound-up resentment and finally heal. In this six-session Bible study, Lysa will help you:
· Take a deeper dive into the stories and teaching in Scripture that address the need for forgiveness and the transformation that will happen in your life.
· Learn how to move on when the other person refuses to change and never says they’re sorry.
· Discover what the Bible really says about forgiveness and the peace that comes from living it out right now
· Identify what’s stealing trust and vulnerability from your relationships so you can believe there is still good ahead.
· Disempower the triggers hijacking your emotions by embracing the two necessary parts of forgiveness.
We invite you to join us for a special Bible Study that has been written by Lisa TerKeurst. This Bible Study will be every Wednesday @ 7 p.m. for 6 weeks starting on October 12. We will be using the Zoom platform. Links and information will be sent out in advance of the event.

“An Evening Together” is a special evening of worship fill with music, prayer and encouragement. With the summer ending and our children transitioning back to school, we felt an evening together focused on giving it all back to God is what our hearts need.
There is a unique purpose behind this event. We have recently partnered with Interfaith Works Women Center in providing meals and other necessary items to all the courageous women at the center. What an amazing opportunity for us to not only pray or think about people in need, but to have the opportunity to make a difference within our own neighborhood. Our desire is to not only provide meals, but also be able to provide resources and other necessities (women, you know how many items are so important to us for self care) to all the women at the center. To be able to do this over an extended period of time we rely on donations from so many generous people like you. There will be a special time for an offering during the evening to collect funds. If you are able to join the cause please consider a donation. Donations can be either through monetary giving - you can click this link SHOW YOUR SUPPORT or drop your check donation in our donation box during the event.
This event is absolutely free, however, we do request that you register and obtain a ticket for the event. This event is taking place in our headquarters and entry to the building will only be possible with a ticket. The parking garages are free for up to 2 hours. For those considering donating, here are some typical donation breakdowns. These numbers are approximations as the cost of food, fuel, and other charges has been changing so much lately. Also, for one month means “once” in a month. Our goal with InterFaith Works currently is to take care of one day per month for a year, for all of their women.
One meal / care goods for one person, for one month is approximately $25.
One meal / care goods for one person for a year is approximately $300.
Our goal is to take care of approximately 80 women, once a month, for one year. That would ultimately cost us $24,000. We would love to see this happen.
Virtual Prayer & Fasting sessions
On Wednesday March 9th, 2022 we are having a day of fasting to aid in our prayers for peace throughout the world. For the innocent in Ukraine, Russia, those imprisoned unjustly, and for the many personal matters unseen by the world. We want to pray peace into your lives.
Some people fast fully, some people fast just from specific items. Some people fast only a specific meal. Fast what is most appropriate for you, and according to your own health conditions.
You can pray in private, with your friends, or you can join us via zoom. We are going to be offering prayer three times during the day. 8:30am EST, 12:30pm EST, and 8:00pm EST are the three sessions we have scheduled to pray together. To join via zoom use the following links:

Hi Friend!
How has your year been going? Mine – well, let’s say my whole family spent the last few weeks of last year and first days of the new year under the weather. It’s been insane – especially with everything that has been going on.
All of that to say – I know so many of you must have had some difficult moments last year. Maybe pain, heartache and disappointment. But can I invite you to step with me into 2022 and find joy, hope and peace in this new year? I believe that if we were to take time out for ourselves and ask the question, “What is it that I would do if there were absolutely no fears, limitations or anxiety present? What is the one thing or things I would dare do if I were to simply have crazy faith and believe?”
I would love to invite you to join me for a very special, and what I pray would be a memorable time, at our VIRTUAL Vision Board Party this year. So many times I feel like I need permission to allow myself to dream or to focus on me. Thankfully I am surrounded by amazing Amigas who remind me that it is okay to take time for myself. So mark your calendar for Sunday, February 6, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. to dream BIG! To take time to intentionally grow this 2022 and step out in faith as we trust God and the calling He has placed in our lives. Our time together will be spent in worship, going through exercises to strengthen different areas of our lives and creating our Vision Board together.
